Tips For Winter Skincare That Boost Natural Beauty
In light of the recent lockdowns, having a look around my local shop is not possible. With all the warm evenings in and the romantic of winter walks It's easy to overlook the fact that winter is an extremely rough time for our skin. There are cold wind chills, low humidity as well as chapped lips!
For a while, I've been playing around with my magical cosmetics to mix with my tried-and-tested favorites purchased from The Body Shop. Below are the top ten winter-hydrating remedies...
Masks That Nourish Winter Radiant
A face mask that hydrates in winter months can be extremely beneficial and can help fight dryness. Find masks that have moisturizing ingredients such as coconut oil, olive oil avocado, honey, avocado oatmeal, roses, or anything with yogurt in it.
Be Gentle With Cleaning
Use a gentle cleanser made of nourishing ingredients to keep the moisture of your skin. I'm a huge advocate of Vitamin E range from The Body Shop which is a great all-around, affordable collection of skincare. It's a great feeling and ideal for those with oily or combination skin.
Cleanse Your Face Using Some Lukewarm Water
Utilizing cold water to cleanse your face isn't going to remove the everyday grime, and hot water may dry out your skin quickly. Warm water aids in removing the dirt while preserving the natural oils that hydrate your skin.
All It Takes to Achieve The Ideal Pout is a little Care
Low humidity and cold temperatures can wreak havoc on the delicate lips! Make sure you have a lipstick balm inside your purse to keep your lips hydrated all day.
Apply Hydrating Serums To Your Face
Make sure you invest in a natural and organic facial serum for hydration. It can be used as a stand-alone product or incorporated into your moisturizer of choice to add an extra dose of moisture.
Moisturizing Is Key
My favorite is the Vitamin E day cream from The Body Shop. I've tested all of the products and the texture is wonderful, light, and extremely hydrating for the skin. It comes with an SPF30 that, even during the cold winter months, when you're inside, is vital. When you're out it can shield your skin from damage caused by environmental stressors and free radicals. When I go to bed, I use the night cream that is nourishing, which is a bit larger than my daytime one but is a great nighttime lotion.
The Combat Dry Insides
Your skin won't be grateful for having to stay in your home all day long with the heating system on. Get a quality humidifier to fight the dry, dry atmosphere. If you have houseplants They'll also be thankful for the extra beverage! It's a win for everyone.
Don't Forget to Put Your Feet On The Ground
If your feet are cozy in warm socks and cozy slippers doesn't mean they don't need attention. Keep the moisture in by massaging a moisturizing balm for your feet before placing your socks on. This helps keep your socks soft and smooth!
Secure The Barnet
Winter's cold and frosty days can dry your hair, particularly when it's lighter or colored. Apply a moisturizing leave-in treatment to keep your locks looking healthy and fresh from winter the spring.
The Body Care Industry isn't Just During Summer
It is said the summer body is formed during winter! Make sure you apply a great body cream or lotion after your showers or baths to seal the moisture. One of my favorites is Japanese Camellia velvet cream for your body which is part of The Body Shop's Spa of the World range. It's deliciously fragrant and has a gorgeous feeling as well as being 100 percent vegan. It costs twice the cost of the usual body jars of butter however it's loaded with wonderful ingredients, such as the oil of camellia seeds.
